The Right Match of Student and School
Our Lower School admission process is designed to provide the best possible opportunity for an applicant and his family to understand Brunswick and its educational philosophy, and for the admission staff to understand each boy and his educational background and interests. Only when these goals have been met can both the family and the School be satisfied that the right match has been made for a student’s successful education. Without question, getting the right match involves embracing diversity of thought, experiences and interests.
Our Admission Office tries to meet the financial needs of all qualified students of deserving character and academic promise. Brunswick is a member of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), which assists schools in making financial aid decisions. Financial assistance is granted on a need basis only. An applicant for financial assistance should notify the Admission Office when applying. Brunswick does not discriminate on the basis of racial, religious, ethnic, or national background in the administration of its admission or financial aid.
Each fall, an Admission reception is held on campus. This event includes presentations by our headmaster, Tom Philip, and students in each division. Prospective families are also offered student-guided tours and opportunities to meet with teachers, administrators, and other members of the Brunswick School community. In addition, interested candidates may visit any of our campuses during school hours by appointment.
Brunswick has entry points for each division: Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the Pre and Lower School; 5th and 6th grades for the Middle School. In the Upper School, 9th grade is the largest entry point but we consider boys at every grade level.
