The playing field presents valuable opportunities for character development. Sportsmanship, teamwork, and hard work—in the context of exercise and good-natured competition—all help shape honorable young men. We fully embrace the idea that a healthy body is just as important as a healthy mind.

In Middle School, all students participate in competitive sports: intramural programs in grades five and six, and interscholastic sports in grades seven and eight. Many teams are tiered to maximize participation, and every boy is expected to play in every contest. Most coaches are also classroom teachers, contributing meaningfully to the school’s spirit of camaraderie.

Brunswick defeated Phillips Exeter Academy, 4–3, on Sunday at Deerfield Academy to capture the NEPSAC Class A Championship — the program’s fourth Class A title since moving up in 2019.

Brunswick defeated Deerfield Academy, 8–7, on Sunday afternoon at Cosby Field to capture the Prep National Championship in front of a packed home crowd.

Brunswick Rowers Win Men's Youth Four

Brunswick won the Men's Youth Four (4-) event at the 2026 USRowing Northeast Youth Championships with an open-water victory in the finals. The win earns the Bruins a bid to the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Fla. (June 11-14).

Brunswick delivered a historic performance at the New England Championships, finishing third overall — the highest finish in program history — while setting three school records, including a New England record.

Brunswick defeated Greenwich Country Day School, 5–2, on a sunny afternoon at Edwards Campus, clinching the FAA League Championship in a dramatic, high-stakes match.

Bruins Sweep St. Luke's, Earn No. 2 Seed in FAAs

Brunswick swept its regular-season series against St. Luke's School this week, earning a 7–0 Senior Day victory on Tuesday before closing the regular season with an 11–0 win in five innings on Thursday in New Canaan.

Chappell as Brunswick’s ninth Head of School, effective July 1, 2027.
