English

From Ideas to Insights

Middle School English emphasizes strong writing, reading, and grammatical skills to prepare students for Upper School. Each week, boys produce a piece of interpretive, creative, or analytical writing, and are encouraged to revise for clarity and focus. Literature study includes classic works, helping students appreciate plot, language, and style while developing critical and interpretive responses. Grammar is taught through a four-year sequential course, deepening students’ understanding of English fundamentals to support clear, original writing.
