The Right Match

Our admission process ensures that applicants and their families fully understand Brunswick and its educational philosophy, while allowing our team to learn about each boy’s background, interests, and potential. Only when these goals are met can both the family and the school be confident that the right match has been made for student success. Embracing diversity of thought, experiences, and interests is essential in finding that match.

The Admission Office strives to meet the financial needs of all qualified students of character and academic promise. Brunswick uses Clarity to guide financial aid decisions, which are granted on a need-basis only. Brunswick does not discriminate based on race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin in its admission or financial aid process.

Brunswick has entry points at Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade for the Pre and Lower Schools; Fifth and Sixth Grades for the Middle School; and primarily Ninth Grade for the Upper School, though we also consider applicants at other grade levels.

The Admission Process

1. Online Inquiry

To begin the application process, parents should submit an Online Inquiry. A member of our Admission team will follow up with our viewbook and official admission packet.

2. Application

Brunswick uses an in-house application. Details are provided in the official admission packet. We also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO) as a convenience.

3. Campus Visit

Campus visits vary by division. We will begin to schedule Parent Visits in September, but please note that you will need to submit your son’s application prior to your visit date. Please contact the appropriate division office to schedule your required campus visit as soon as possible. Prospective families are also encouraged to attend one of our optional Open Houses.

4. Supporting Materials

Testing requirements vary by division. Confidential transcripts and recommendations from current schools and teachers are due by January 15. Parents must waive the right to view these materials.

An Important Message from the Chairman of the Board
An Important Message from the Chairman of the Board

It is with profound gratitude for a job exceptionally well done that I write to advise you that Tom Philip has informed the Board of Trustees of his plans to retire in June 2027, at the close of the 2026–2027 school year. When that milestone day arrives, after 26 years of his steady and extraordinary leadership, Tom will be the longest tenured Head of School other than Brunswick’s founder.
