Student receiving art direction from teacher

Visual Arts

The Upper School visual arts program focuses on individual skill development. All classes encourage personal expression, imagination, and conceptual thinking. As practical skills and theoretical knowledge develop, courses lead to a deeper understanding of the role played by visual arts in our world.

The computer graphics program is designed to expose students to electronic imaging programs including the Adobe Creative Suite. The computer serves as a digital darkroom and design platform, as well as a publication layout environment. Our goal is to instill a sense of confidence in students’ creative abilities and to allow them the freedom to explore new technologies.
