Technology Department

Technology at Brunswick is a tool for deeper learning, not an end in itself. We believe boys must learn to be responsible digital citizens and effective, independent learners — skills that prepare them for success in the classroom, in college, and beyond.

Technology is introduced thoughtfully at every stage of a student’s education. In the Lower and Middle Schools, students use shared MacBook Air and iPad carts to build foundational digital skills in developmentally appropriate ways. In the Upper School, every student participates in Brunswick’s 1:1 MacBook Air program, receiving a school-managed device as a rising freshman, refreshed before junior year, to ensure consistent access to the technology and digital resources used throughout the curriculum.

Every classroom is equipped with modern instructional technology that supports collaboration, student presentations, and flexible teaching. Curriculum-specific software enhances learning across academic disciplines, while students are taught to use emerging technologies — including artificial intelligence (AI) — responsibly, ethically, and with academic integrity. Brunswick’s Acceptable Use Policy emphasizes AI as a tool to support learning, critical thinking, creativity, and original work.

Beyond the classroom, students have access to specialized fabrication technologies, including 3D printers and laser cutters, that support hands-on, interdisciplinary learning in science, engineering, art, and computer science.

Behind the scenes, the Technology Office provides the secure, reliable infrastructure and support that keep Brunswick connected and learning uninterrupted, allowing students and faculty to focus on what matters most.
