Opportunities For All Levels Of Experience
Brunswick’s instrumental music program offers many exciting opportunities for both experienced and aspiring musicians. Options range from small combos, where improvisation and composition are encouraged, to large performing ensembles, which typically put on three major concerts annually in conjunction with Greenwich Academy.
The Blue Notes is our premiere instrumental performing group. Blue Notes members learn a variety of jazz and popular genres including swing, funk, soul, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll. This group often performs at various school and community functions.
All instrumental music offerings at Brunswick are open to students from both campuses and meet as regular academic courses. A number of our graduates have gone on to play in college and many continue to play for their own enjoyment and pleasure. Instrumental music is an important and enriching part of our students’ academic day.
A second-generation Holocaust survivor spoke to Middle School boys in February about her mother’s escape from Hungary in the early years of World War II.
The Middle School Math Team finished first in the statewide Connecticut MathCounts competition, held at Yale University on March 1.
After winning a tightly contested match against St. Andrew’s School on Saturday night to secure its place in the finals, Brunswick defeated Hotchkiss, 5-2, to earn the 2025 US High School Team Squash Championship. It is the Bruins’ sixth title in school history.
Richard Reeves, president of the American Institute for Boys and Men and author of Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male is Struggling, Why it Matters, and What to Do About It, spoke to parents and alumni in Baker Theater in an evening presentation in late January.
